Catholic Social Services Australia Board Member Honoured for Community Efforts

March 2009
Bishop Pat Power, Auxiliary Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn, has been named Canberra Citizen of the Year at a ceremony held in Canberra on the 12 March 2009.  The award was made in recognition of Bishop Power's personal efforts and significant contribution to the ACT community, his strong advocacy for all Canberrans, particularly those in need, and for publicly giving voice to many issues of concern to the wider community. Bishop Power is a current member of the Catholic Social Services Australia Board, a position he also held several years ago.  We are grateful for his ongoing commitment to Catholic social services in Australia and congratulate him on this very worthy honour. (Please click here to view the full Catholic Voice article from editor Geoff Orchison).
